We continue with our giving out of the 5 year awards, the next 4 recipients are as follows:
BLAIR McKENZIE: Blair is the captain of the under 15s side, he has all the attributes of an outstanding defender, he is an excellent tackler, very good in the air and comfortable with the ball at his feet, he also possesses good recovery pace, the fact that he is left sided and 6’2″ and an inspirational captain makes him a stand out in what is an outstanding Hutchie side,they have seldom tasted defeat and won the Scottish cup at under 13s and are in the semi-final at the moment,Blair would like nothing more to reach another Scottish final.
JAMES ROBERTSON: James is a talented footballer with very good technique and skill he also has a descent change of pace, plays predominantly in the wide areas particularly on the right side,were he links up play very well, unselfish and very much a team player,scored two brilliant goals in my first( and only thus far) game in charge of them V Dalkeith, his first was a sensational strike from 22 yards hitting the underside of the bar, superb attitude and willing to improve all aspects of his game a joy to have him in the under 13s squad.
REBECCA SCOTT: Rebecca played in the under 15s girls team, mostly as a full back but could play in several other positions as well when needed, she is a lively character, very technical, something she has worked very hard at over the years particularly when we were doing the Totally Technical Badge system, a determined competitor she is tenacious on the pitch and gets better season after season.
JOSH MCDONALD: A naturally gifted player with an appetite for the game i have seldom seen in my many years at the club, superb balance and beautiful touch and feel for the ball, he has two great feet and his technique is superb,ability well beyond his years and exciting to watch, at his best when on the front foot and his decision making is of a high order,josh had lots of the attention playing for the 07s although he’s an 08 birthday, he is now at Celtic and captain ,hopefully his talent continues to flourish with them.
