Thursday the 30th away V Tynecastle (league)

Another great turn out by the Hutchie parents for our first away league match which is always a good start to any match.

This was always going to be a hard game and as the lads took to the field with the same starting line up from Sunday although Chris G ,had  swapped positions with Chris H, hopes were high for a good result , although as the half wore on neither Chris looked particularly at ease with their starting  role’s.

The match began at a fast pace but was missing our usual spark , then great control by Harry followed by a cracking shot from the edge of the box put us 1-0 up. The match was being dragged into a long ball game now and  another long ball released a Tynecastle forward who sprinted through our defense, Jordan saved well but the luck was not with us as the ball broke at the feet of another Tynecastle player who rolled the ball in to make it 1-1 with their only shot off the half.

Sam was then unlucky to see a great shot come back of the bar , more half chances came and went but Hutchie just could not take them , Tynecastle almost got another when a sliced clearance by Hutchie came out of the underside of the bar ( could have been the inner stanchion but the ref waved play on )

Kevin then drove through  midfield and fed a lovely pass to Mark who rounded the keeper and slammed it home 2-1.

Hutchie although not at their best were controlling the game now as it neared the break.

Half time 2-1

The second half began with numerous changes of players and positions which most of our lads seemed to struggle to cope with, this allowed Tynecastle to come back into the game but some great defending by Jaxon ,Chris G,Kevin and Jamie who were now being worked far too hard for our liking managed to keep them out. Mark saved well from a long range shot and from a free kick which was Tynecastle only attempts at goal in the second half.

Yet again chances came our way but the ball just was not rolling our way .A tynecastle attack break led to the ball being passed through,  our defense held the line well and he appeared to be about 15 yard offside, but unbelievably the ref from his superior position from behind the play waved play on for Tynecastle to score 2-2.( oh for a linesman )

Chris G limped off injured and Lewis S came back on , but with 5 mins to go a rash challenge by Lewis S in the box appeared to be a clear penalty but the ref waved play on again ( possibly to make up for the offside goal ! )( 2 wrongs make a right ?)

More chances came and went but our lads just could not find the target.

In the last minute Kevin broke from his defensive duties and released Sam with a great pass with only the keeper to beat he put his shot under him only to watch in despair as the ball rolled passed the wrong side of the post.

Final score 2-2

Scorer’s Mark,Harry,

Some good individual performances but  not a great team display , roll on the next match
