Buses Cup
Hutchie – Line up – Jordan,Connor,Jaxon,
If possession and shots at goal won matches then this would
have been an easy report but that’s not how football works !
It was clear from the start this was going to be a lot
harder than it looked on paper , as Tranent were a
very large physical team who used the long ball at every opportunity.
With Hutchie shooting up the hill in the first half the
match was played at a fast pace , although the
numerous stops for the ball going in the bushes and field seemed to help
neither team to get into the game. Hutchie always looked the more likely to
breakthrough but the bounce of the ball and the large Tranent keeper ( they had 2 both big lads) coping well with all hutchie
through at them.
Then
Half
time 3-0.
A few positional changes at half time for Hutchie and
almost straight from the re-start Hutchie were caught in possession and a punt
forward left their striker clean through who finished well 1-3 with their 1st
shot on target. The home team were now well up for it as were
their supporters and at this point the Ref seemed to lose control with numerous
challenges being missed !,amazingly another punt forward and their forward sped
past our defense and fired home 2-3.The game was now in the balance but Hutchie
just couldn’t take any of their chances Tranent were now pressing forward and
causing a few worrying moments in our defence.Kevin
then cut into their box and was sliced down for what appeared to be a blatant
penalty but the ref missed it ! minutes later a cross
came in the Tranent keeper fumbled and Kev prodded
home 4-2 much to the relief of us all, minutes later another cross came in and
Lewis S got something on it to make it 5-2.The game was nearing its end when
Ben was brought down and had to leave the field soon after Kevin was brought
down as well and also had to leave the field, thank fully the whistle went for
full time
Full
time 5-2
Another hard match , with Tranent playing nothing like a
team from Division 3, good to see the boys sticking in well and keeping their
composure when the going got tough and getting the result their play deserved
Well done to lads
