The pitch at Whitecraig was a shocker ! the grass had obviously not been cut for some time which
meant spotting the numerous dog poo land mines almost
impossible , a disgrace !
The match started with both
teams unable to get a hold of the ball as it was out of play more than in it ,then our defence failed to clear a cross and the
MW forward finished well into the corner 1-0.
Our lads seemed to eventually
be coming into the game and a good run and cross by Jason was met by Ben who
slotted home with his left foot 1-1.
MW came close on a couple of
occasions but never troubled Jordan
Half time 1-1.
Second half began with
Hutchie trying to put some pressure on MW and a good break out left Jason
through on goal but as the keeper blocked the shot Jamie C was first to the
ball to tap home 1-2.
MW were now trying to exert
their obvious size advantage with numerous late and has to be said nasty
challenges .Then Lewis R won the ball of their defender and crossed well for
Jason to slam home 1-3.This seemed to spark even more
late challenges with the match being stopped continually for injuries to
Hutchie boys and on one occasion a flying elbow of the ball.
The Hutchie boys kept their
discipline and despite the Ariel threat survived but a mistake in defence let
the MW forward scoop the ball home 2-3
Eventually the ref blew for
full time
2-3 and a welcome victory
