A home
tie this week at the impressive Edinburgh Academy pitches.
Hutchie
put on a show more than worthy of the surroundings, at times
the movement passing awareness and finishing were outstanding.
Whilst
there were eighteen goals scored amongst the boys
the one thing that stood out from the performance was the team work and
attitude. Every single player did their job, encouraged team
mates and displayed a dignified and mature attitude to the performance
and outcome.
Now to
the goals.
The first
goal arrived early a ball into the box was controlled by Lewis ,
he laid the ball into the path of Aidan who made no mistake with a
brilliant high shot into top corner. 1-0.
The
second was all about awareness and support, James got forward well, outpaced
the full back and struck an unstoppable shot from a tight angle. 2-0.
Cammy M and Murray combined well
to set up Lewis who shot just wide.
No 3. Aidan again shot from distance the shot
was blocked and fell to Sean who reacted quickest and hit a hard shot into
net despite a good effort from the keeper. 3-0.
No 4 involved Sean again this time he was provider passing
to Ethan who finished well.
No 5 was down to Ethan he picked up goal the goal kick
looked up and hit a shot high into the net. 5-0.
No 6 was that man again (well boy) Ethan he used his pace to
latch onto a through ball side stepped the keeper took another couple of steps
and rolled the ball into the empty net. 6-0.
No 7 was from the training ground. A short
corner by Sean to Brandon who delivered a brilliant driven cross into box where
Callum timed his run to head home. 7-0.
A superb
first half performance was spoiled a little with a goal Cammy
and the defence will not have been happy with (and the coaches ) The defence
were caught twice in possession on the edge of the box the second time the ball
was touched on to the forward who hit a looping shot high past Cammy (who later claimed he got his fingers to it!)
The half
was finished with another Hutchie goal. A corner was cleared
by the defender and keeper, the ball spun high in the air and Lewis
reacted well and showed great skill and awareness by flicking the ball with his
back to goal into the air and just under the bar to make it 8-1.
The
second half started with another quick goal. Reagan ran onto a through ball
composed himself and smashed a low shot into the bottom corner. 9-1.
No 10 was
an own goal a whipped cross from Alex was sliced into his own net by the
defender. 10-1.
Alex was enjoing a lot of ball and was instrumental in the flow of
the second half.
The
second half was dominated by Hutchie the full backs
James and Cammy M were supporting the front boys
well, in the middle Sam was delivering superb passes to the flanks. The fitness
of the Hutchie team was evident as Blackburn were finding
it difficult to get into the game.
No 11
came from Aidan who placed a superb free kick into the top corner from around
25 yards.
David got
in on the act for no 12 showing good pace before side footing past the keeper. 12-1.
No 13 was
like a fifa 10 goal (the boys will know what i mean) Reagan controlled the ball well and delivered a
lovely chipped shot over the keeper. 13-1.
No 14 was
scored by Cammy B (not the goalie
obviously!) he peeled off to the back post from a corner and when the
ball landed at his feet he showed a stikers
instinct and chipped a lovely shot high into the net. 14-1.
No 15 was
down to Murray his first shot from James cross was saved
by the keeper, the ball broke back to Murray and he finished from close range.
No 16 was
a piece of good skill from Reagan he lifted the ball over the defenders
challenge and squared to David who as all good strikers do made sapce fro himself and finished
well from around eight yards.
No 17 was
a strong run from Sean who evaded a couple of challanges
before smashing the ball into the bottom corner from just inside the box.
No 18 and
the final goal wa perhaps the pick of them all, James
picked up ball from the touch line cut inside taking a couple of defenders
with him then hit a brillant shot accross
the face of the goal finding the far corner of the net.
If this
report has missed any boys out then those who watched
will agree that it was a team effort, when you consider that there was not
a single goal keeping error in any of the 18 goals it demonstrated how
well the goals were taken.
Another
first class performance which really was a joy to
watch at times.
