Report on our Leith Ath game last Tuesday.

A Hutchie team with 7 new squad members finally got their League campaign ynderway against a Leith Ath team who had opened up their campaign wirh an impressive 3-0 victory over
Edinburgh City.

Hutchie started brightly and put
Leith under pressure, creating and missing a handful of chances. After weathering the early storm Leith came more into the game, although neither side was troublingthe goalkeepers at this stage.
That was until midway through the half when New signing
Todd Smith opened his account sweeping home a fine goal from just inside the box. Hutchie should have gone on to capitilise on this but a dreadful defensive mix- up allowed Leith an opportunity to level the scoring.

Just before Half time Hutchie regained the lead, Clelland's Kick out was controlled by
Scott Gray swept out to Ross Brady who ran at the Leith Defence before passing inside to another new boy Ross Somerville who ran on evading two tackles to plant the ball firmly into the back of the net.

In the second half both teams had a real go at each other Leith Ath came close with a great run and shot from outside the penalty box which smacked off the crossbar. They were rewarded however 10minutes later when the same player from just inside the side line smacked a shot high over the goalkeeprs head into the net for a deserved equaliser.

As the game neared the end Hutchie poured forward in search of the winner. Good wing play from
Jordan Glennie set up s fine cross for Brady but his shot on the volley flew just inches over the bar.
Inthe dying minutes
Gray had a chnce to run at the Leith defense before passing inside to Ryan Crawford who smashed a shot high in to the roof of the net to provide Hutchie with three hard fought points.
