Musselburgh
Windsor v Hutchie Vale Sat 8th September 07
Hutchison Vale took on Musselburgh Windsor on a bright
beautiful morning with Hutchi Vale kicking off down
the slight slope with the sun at their backs. Right from kick off the Hutchi Girls went on attack with Megan making some
good runs down the left and on four minutes their
attacking play earned them the first goal. A superb pass from Louise through the
centre found Carrie, who with
good strength, held off the Windsor defender,
raced into the box and drilled the ball beyond their keeper. But like Thursday
night against Cowdenbeath after a positive
start the ball just wouldn't hit the back of the net. Megan coming
closest as she hit a post sending the ball squirmming across goal but there were no
takers for the rebound. Shannon too had a couple of great chances to
increase the lead, but just as Hutchie Vale looked to have taken a grip of the
game Musselburgh Windsor broke upfield with a couple
of good passes. It was the impressive
defensive duo of Kerry and Connie who snuffed
out the danger. Windsor kept pushing
forward and almost scored an equaliser but Amie in goals got behind everything that
came her way.

And with the 2nd half kicking off with Hutchi Vale shooting up hill with the sun in their eyes and
with a slight lead it looked like it was going to be a pretty tight game. But the midfield of Louise, Nicole and Jo winning most
of the balls and playing some delightful passes over the top and through the
middle another goal was sure to come. With one great passing move Carly was sent clean through on goal but as she was about
to shoot the Windsor keeper raced out and brought her down to earn the
first Hutchi penalty of the season. It was Carly who took the ball and confidently placed it beyond
the keeper to make the score 0-2. Eight minutes later with
another great passing move between Nicole, Carrie and Carly,
it was Carly who again found herself in the box, she controled the pass and fired a shot low into the
corner to make the Score 0-3.
But credit to Musselburgh Windor who never gave up even when they went 4-0 down, a
great through ball once again from Louise to Lisa who cut in
passed the last defender and from the tightest of angles, squeezed
the ball into the top corner. Musselburgh kept fighting for every ball and they
almost went on to get a deserved consolation goal . They
got beyond the Hutchi defence
with a great move down the left, but the final shot smacked off a post.
Both teams played a great game of passing football but in
the end Hutchi Vale were too strong for a good Musselburgh Windsor side.
