Hutchison Vale Colts 13s vs Seton Boys Club

Seton contolled the first 15 minutes of this match without really creating a good chance, but the better team went behind when Marc Berry ran clear of the Seton defence and waltzed round the keeper to roll into an empty net to make it 1-0 to Hutchie. That goal seemed to spark a bit life into Hutchie and they went on to create several chances in the next 15 minutes.Hutchie went 2-0 up when Mikey Reid scored from close range wrong footing the keeper. It was looking good after weathering the storm Hutchie seemed to be in control, but that was short lived and Seton came storming back, hitting a post with a great shot then getting a deserved goal from a corner that wasn't cleared on the stroke of half-time to make it 2-1.

Half-time Hutchie 2 Seton 1

The second half saw Seton continue to play well and got a deserved equaliser to make it 2-2 early on in the half. The strong wind wasn't helping Hutchie with a lot of passes missing their target, but also Hutchie were not playing well as team, a lot of wrong decision making was the problem, players holding on to the ball to long or wanting to beat another player before shooting.Chances came and went at both ends before the ref blew for full-time.

Full-time Hutchie 2 Seton 2

Extra time started well for Hutchie, they took the lead again with sub Blair Lawson smashing home to make it 3-2.But yet again Hutchie switched off and let Seton back into the game. The equaliser was the goal of the game with the Seton forward smashing home from the edge of the box high into the net to make it 3-3.Seton got a deserved winner with 5 minutes of extra-time remaining the ball lobbing over the keeper for a 4-3 victory .

Final score Hutchie 3 Seton 4

The team that wanted to win more got the victory,Hutchie were guilty of expecting to win rather than wanting to win.I hope the players learn from this defeat because with a little more effort and desire to push ourselves harder we would have won this match. But all credit to Seton for not giving up when going behind.
