What was an eagerly anticipated game, hutchie colts came into this one on a high

Having put together a great run in recent weeks which seen them into the semi finals of two cups and picking up points in the league, confidence was running high.

Tonight’s game seen them against a strong Windsor team who themselves have reach the Scottish cup semi finals for the second year in a row.

Musselburgh got the game under way and had a lot of early possession with out really troubling the colts but a quick break and hutchie were up the park in no time the ball fell to Taylor who showed some good skill to beat the defender and drive in a low shot that just went wide of the target with this the colts started to win what was shaping up to be a hard battle in the midfield.

The game started to stretch and play was going from box to box without giving either keeper any real problems hutchie started to edge the balance of play and a good shot from Ross outside the box just went past the post

With the Windsor trying to get into the game and put pressure on the hutchie defence who were solid as ever, hutchie started to break quickly and a great pass from brad found Taylor out on the wing who with some more good play held of the defenders challenge and put in a great driven cross for Ryan who hit it first time just over the bar.

This seemed to wake up the Windsor and some good football seen them break through on the middle of the colts defence and only a great save from the advancing Jordan hunter kept the scores level.

This sparked the game to life and with both teams pushing hard another chance came quickly to the Windsor out on the right but the impressive jo hunter was equal to the shot and a quick break seen a great pass from brad split the Windsor defence and this set Bradley rixon through on goal who had a great shot saved by an equally impressive Windsor keeper

The Windsor kept pushing and won there first corner of the game, which was driven in and a free header from the penalty spot put it beyond the helpless colts defence just before half time 1-0

Second half kicked of much the same as both teams went for it but the Windsor boys had the momentum and had two corners in quick succession

The colts failed to clear the second corner and the Windsor player drove the ball hard across the face of goal which took a wicked deflection of the helpless Bruce to dismay of every one watching 2-0

This seemed to set the colts back a bit and they struggled to get back in the game for a short spell frustration was starting to show when the Windsor won a soft free kick out side the box and resulted in there third goal 3-0

Credit to the colts who started to lift there self’s and played some nice football which created numerous chances but some poor finishing and bad luck seen Musselburgh lift all the points on this occasion

Musselburgh were just too strong on this occasion and the colts were unlucky to be beat and will look back at the missed chances.
