High flying Tynecastle
were favourites coming into this game against a Hutchie
side who had faltered badly at the weekend.
Hutchie's injury problems continued with
Gareth Rodgers joing fellow defender Michael Langdale on the sidelines. This left a new look
defence to face Tynecastle's highly rated forward
line. Further up the field Coach Norrie Lewis's problems continued with Ross Tipton still out, Ryan Somerville failed to appear. Trialist Dean Carse made his first appearance to help bolster
team numbers.
Despite the problems, Hutchie started the brighter team and cause
Tynecastle problems playing up the considerable slope. Callum Gilzean did a great job nullifying the threat of
the dangerous Ahmad and Tynecastle rarely threatened at this stage.
Hutchie duly took the lead when Scott Gray latched on to a through ball ran across
his defender and smashed the ball high over the keepers head.
All hopes that Hutchie could build on this lead were
dashed when Tynecastle equalised, then took the lead through Frazer Galloway just before the Half Time whistle.
To add to Hutchie's worries Jordan Glennie who had been playing despite an injury had
to be taken off at Half Time.
The second half was as even as the first, Hutchie put some good moves
together with Niall Doherty beavering away
in midfield trying to create chances and Callum Donnelly on as a Half Time replacement causing
Tynecastle real difficulties down the left and linking well with Gray.
Tynecastle though always looked more dangerous going forward though with Galloways pace and clinical finishing proving to be
the difference as he helped his team to three second
half goals.
The score was somewhat harsh on the Hutchie youngsters, who can be sure
that with a full squad to choose from results will improve.
