14s Scottish Cup March 1st( last 16)- replay

Home v Lewis (Aberdeen)

On a good pitch which was a decent size and the sun beating down ( ok then,  it went dark and rained and hail stones then it was sunny again ) after all it is Scotland !

The replay was eagerly awaited would the lads be ready for the challenge ?

The game was started at a frantic pace with Hutchie trying their best to break through the Lewis defence but with no real pressure on the keeper.

Lewis always looked dangerous with their direct tactics but the Hutchie back line were looking solid again with Gregor a virtual spectator.

From a great cross field pass by Connor , Rob found himself clean through but his shot went wide , another cross was missed by the defence and amazingly both Rob and Jamie just failed to convert at the back post .

Hutchie survived a scare when the Lewis forward flashed a shot into the net but he had clearly handled the ball prior to shooting , this seemed to spur Hutchie on and with the half ending Harry laid the ball on to Jamie who lashed a 25 yarder into the net 1-0 and no more than Hutchie deserved

Half time 1-0.

Second half was now end to end with Lewis coming more into the game but still unable to to create a clear opening with Hutchie trying hard to get the all important 2nd goal.

Gregor had to make some good saves and looked very confident and handled all that came his way with ease , the challenges were now becoming fierce and the referee showed a few yellows and quickly reminded the lads exactly who was in charge which helped the match continue in its fast and unrelenting  pace.

Lewis were getting closer and as the Lewis forward broke into the box his shot was blocked well by Kevin ,at the other end both Jamie and Rob had chances but their shots were blocked or went wide.

Then with 3 minutes to go Kevin went down awkwardly after a late challenge and was unable to continue and from their next attack a cross was missed and the Lewis forward tapped home 1-1 to the disbelief of the home support.

With extra time looming and the last attack of the game a long ball was headed on by Jake , Dylan was first to it and fired home 2-1 to the delight and relief of the home support

Full time 2-1

A great game , played at a frantic pace with Hutchie deserved winners on this performance
