Scottish
Cup 22nd Feb( last 16)
Away
v Lewis (Aberdeen)
Our
long awaited tie eventually was on and after the long bus journey we arrived at
the centre of Aberdeen
The
conditions and pitch were ok small pitch and very windy but definitely playable

The
match began at a frantic pace with LEWIS on the attack immediately and with
their obvious size advantage were getting the ball forward at every opportunity
and pinning Hutchie back , then a mistake in midfield and the Lewis winger was
free he got to the touchline and sent over a great cross for their forward to
head home 1-0.
Hutchie
were now rattled but before anymore damage was done Jamie made a good run and
smashed a shot from distance which left the keeper helpless 1-1.
The
match was now end to end with lots of fouls the ref( a
lady ) was doing her best to control the somewhat over excited challenges and
in the most part did a good job with some well chosen words of wisdom to the
offenders .
From
another free kick Connor floated the ball into the box and before the defenders
could get there Jamie acrobatically tipped the ball home 1-2
Lewis
were now pushing hard and came close on several occasions but for some last
ditch defending and a great save by Gregor who managed to scoop the ball away
when it looked like sailing over him , stopped any further goals
Half
time 1-2.
Second
half began with Lewis having the bulk of possession and with the ball
continually fired from long range into the Hutchie box it was only with a few
break outs that Hutchie still looked dangerous.
From
another Lewis attack a shot looped over Gregor but before the ball could cross
the line Kevin managed to head it clear , the pressure was mounting and
numerous long range shots were fired in as Lewis just couldn’t break
through our defence , but their shots were sailing just over or wide .
A
scramble in the box resulted in a shot passing Gregor but before it made it to
the line Kevin just made it back to hook it clear again .
With
2 minutes to go a Lewis player raced down the wing into the box and was brought
down Penalty ,,,,, which was dispatched with ease 2-2
Full
time 2-2
To
lose a goal so near the end was disappointing but a draw was probably a fair
result with a replay to come
A
great performance by the lads and one they can all be proud off
Thanks
to our hosts for the Hospitality shown after , most
appreciated by all
