13s colts Report 23 sept 2007 Salvesen Vs Hutchison
Vale Colts(league div 2)
Salvesen started the game really
well and went 1-0 up after 10 minutes,a cross into
the box from the right hand side got caught by the wind and flew over Steele`s head and into the net leaving him no chance. This seemed to kick Hutchie into life and for the
rest of the half we were on top,so much so that we didn`t want half time to come.Hutchie
drew level with 5 minutes of the first half remaining,a
great one-two between Marc berry and Bradley Rixon
left Rixon clear on goal and from the edge of the box
he drilled it home.Hutchie deserved their goal after
missing so many chances in the first half.HT 1-1.
Salvesen again started well and
the game seemed to be more even again.Salvesen were
awarded a penalty about 10 minutes into the second half. The
Salvesen penalty taker struck the post then blazed over the rebound. This
again stirred Hutchie back to life and within minutes we had taken the lead
with a fantastic half volley from Jack McIntyre on the edge of the box
crashing high past the helpless Salvesen goalie. The
rest of the game was dominated by Hutchie with us going on to score twice more
with goals from Mikey Reid and Marc Berry to wrap up
a great 4-1 victory.
This was also a team that beat us at the end of last
season 5-3 so it was a massive turn around for us and shows
we are heading in the right direction.Hard work on
the training ground must continue and we will continue to improve our
results and performances.
